What is it?
Surfactants are substances that reduce the surface tension of a liquid in which it is dissolved. These compounds lower the surface tension between two liquids, for example, between a gas and a liquid or between a liquid and a solid. Surfactants mixed with builders and pH boosters formulate household and personal care detergents.
Why use them?
Simply put, surfactants are surface active agents. In soaps and cleaners, surfactants break the surface tension of water which allows soiled areas to be thoroughly cleaned by dispersing the greasy soils.
Better Clean?
When cleaning spills, wiping down with only water is not enough and only spreads the mess. Utilizing a surfactant cleaning agent cuts deep into soiled areas for a complete clean.
